Tokyo, Japan - January 26, 2015 - Rapyuta Robotics Co., Ltd. (RR) has raised JPY 351 million (USD 2.96 million) in its first round of funding. Founded in July of 2014, the funding will be used to lay down the technical foundation for the company and to develop market-specific robotics solutions as part of its initial business plan. RR’s technical team currently consists mostly of members from the Institute for Dynamic Systems and Control of ETH Zurich, which is well known for its unique and dynamic robotic systems, as well as from the EU-funded RoboEarth project, whose goal was to build an internet for robots.

Rapyuta Robotics took the stage at Slush Tokyo, one of the world’s largest start-up events, on March 30th 2017 at Tokyo Big Site. The theme of his presentation was “Making Robots Accessible to Anyone.”

The Rapyuta Robotics team has seen a lot of growth since this time last year, and given the distance between our three office, we thought it was a good time for some face-to-face interaction. To that end, the Zurich and Bangalore teams headed to the airport and flew to Tokyo for the first ever Company Retreat.

As a matter of fact, ROSCon was the event that brought Alankrita, Bharat, Connor, Dhananjay, Daiki, Gajan, Javier, Jose and Praveen away from their desks to the Korean metropolis.
