SoftBank Innovation Program (SIP) to fund and facilitate prototyping and market testing for Rapyuta Robotics’ new cloud-based drone service

Tokyo, Japan - Cloud robotics company Rapyuta Robotics has just announced $10 million USD* in Series A funding led by SBI investments Co. Ltd., one of Japan’s leading financial investors. SBI also invested in Rapyuta Robotics’ seed round, which was which was led by Cyberdyne Inc. in 2015.

Zurich, Switzerland - Rapyuta Robotics is pleased to announce that the Swiss Commission for Technology and Innovation (CTI) will provide approximately USD 500K in funding to support the development of our Cloud Robotics Platform  in partnership with the ICCLab/SPLab at the Zurich University of Technology.

Bengaluru, India - Rapyuta Robotics is excited to announce the opening of its new India office in Bengaluru (formerly Bangalore), India. Along with existing offices in Tokyo (Japan) and Zurich (Switzerland) the company now has a presence in three countries. The Bengaluru team will focus on building the Platform-as-a-Service framework that is the backbone of Rapyuta Robotics’ cloud platform.

Tokyo, Japan - January 26, 2015 - Rapyuta Robotics Co., Ltd. (RR) has raised JPY 351 million (approx. USD $3 million*) in its first round of funding, led by Japanese robotics company Cyberdyne Inc. The funding will be used to develop market-specific robotics solutions in Japan, and to lay down the technical foundation for Rapyuta Robotics cloud robotics platform.
